Our Story

The Plant Pot Pig Ltd is a small, family run pig farm, based in the heart of Dumfries & Galloway. We operate a closed breeding herd and work hard to achieve high health status and promote the highest pig welfare standards. Our dedication to the pigs can be seen by how friendly, happy and healthy they all are.

All of our pigs are reared outdoors. We do not nose ring our breeding sows and boars, preferring to let them dig freely into the soil, which they love. 

Sows farrow outside in their own private straw bedded hut, they are free to move around without restrictions.

Weaned pigs are moved into large straw filled, naturally ventilated barns to allow them to exhibit natural behaviour as they would outdoors. We also provide them with other stimulative objects to play with. Welfare is our first priority, and we can guarantee no tail docking or teeth clipping is done on the farm.
